I blogged earlier this morning when HVG had a drilling press release. It closed yesterday at .065 and we've essentially doubled already. Remember, no chasing it! The volume has come in early and we have to wait for a pullback.

Canadian Stock Alerts Update:

COMMERCE RESOURCES - CCE.V @ .44 on 1 million shares traded

CCE caught my attention first as a story stock through their recent corporate video. It's a pretty amazing Canadian story in my opinion. But a story with no volume is just another story. Today I also noticed some volume coming in and the stock moved from .40 to .48 and has since pulled back a bit.

I believe there is drilling news expected in the coming weeks and that may be part of the interest driving the volume today. In any event, the video is worth a watch.

ECOMETALS LIMITED - EC.V @ .31 on 2 million shares traded

Terrific volume by 11:00am .. opened at .25, spiked to .30 then pulled back to .27 and is running again. It did break that psychological price point threshold of .29 BUT it's only at .31, will it push into the 30's with conviction?

If you didn't grab the .27 pullback, I'd wait to see what happens here. It may giveback a few cents again, the .29 and .27 range has support, as per LEVEL 2.

It's up 30% already, so chasing it on a Friday might be a bad idea.

Most junior mining stocks are down or sideways at best this morning. It's Friday and Friday going into a long weekend in Canada, and also the last day of the month. Add to that the slowest few weeks of trading, being the dead of summer and summer holidays.

You know I always advocate buying the pullbacks. If there are any junior gold plays you've liked but wanted them cheaper, this morning's pullback is wide spread, and not stock specific, it might be the opportunity you were waiting for.

CONSTANTINE METAL RESOURCES - CEM.V @ .34 on 194,000 shares traded

I have covered CEM several times over the past few months when it was .20 and less. Now that they have their $3 million in financing in place things have heated up. The volume is growing by the day and the share price keeps pushing higher.

Their Palmer property I believe goes back to when CEM President & CEO Garfield MacVeigh was Chairman of Rubicon, just a few years ago. The Constantine Timmins' Ontario property (Munro-Croesus Project is a past-producing mine property that yielded some of the highest grade gold ever mined in Ontario) could easily become world class as well.

I suggest doing your due diligence first, and you will quickly see what I see.

Canadian Stock Alerts Update:

OREX EXPLORATION INC - OX.V @ .14 on 273,000 shares traded

OX caught my attention back in mid May with a huge spike in trading volume. It was then around .14 and they were working on their 43-101 report. They're a Canadian junior mining company in Nova Scotia with what looks like a million + ounces of gold.

Mark Billings the President & CEO will be holding a conference call next Tuesday (August 4th) to discuss this and other items. It should draw new interest to OREX and it could easily trade millions of shares, it's the high trading volume we want to see again.

OREX could easily be a the next Canadian story stock, we've witnessed a few great ones of late in EVG, NOT and BXI. Just a word of caution though, no matter how good the story looks on paper or how compelling the story may be told, until the trading volume follows the story, it's just that, another story. I for one like the story, but the story is always untold without the trading volume.

So we'll keep OREX EXPLORATION INC high on our radar for now.

Canadian Stock Alerts Update:

BEAR LAKE GOLD LTD - BLG.V @ .24 on 3.2 million shares traded

This is similar to BIO MS MEDICAL (MS.TO), mentioned this morning. Similiar in that a negative news release created a huge pullback in the share price to the tune of a 66% decline. BLG reported a few days ago that they were finding inconsistencies in their recent assay data. The stock was halted for a few days and opened today down 66%. It was trading recently in the .70's

It's highly risky of course, just like MS was this morning. Anyone who bought my MS.TO alert at .32 did quite well .. it's now .41 and did hit .46 . So will BLG get back to .70 tomorrow, probably not. They will likely drift higher in the days & weeks ahead, remember from here a 20% gain is still only .29 .. so the upside can be large but this is clearly a risky play after the recent news.

You have to know your own tolerance for these kinds of plays. The reward can be great, but not without the risk. Was BLG oversold like MS .. maybe, time will tell.

This may be the typical over reaction to negative news. Their second trial of the drug "dirucotide" failed and the stock has fallen back 88% this morning. It closed yesterday at $2.70 .. there is clearly a risk & reward in play here. Will it be $2.70 tomorrow, not likely. But after the dust settles, it should drift higher, the same way UUU.TO was affected by negative news a few weeks back.

It's always about volume & that's what just attracted me to NTC this afternoon. Someone just bought over 1.2 million shares at .155 . NTC just did a private placement of $6 million dollars. The 52 week range has been between .10 and 1.02 .. hoping for a pullback, so it's worth keeping an eye.

MEDICAGO INC - MDG.V @ .57 on 2.4 million shares traded

MDG started spiking last week from the .30's and hit .50 on Friday. Then spiked big time this morning on great volume. That said, we are watching for the right pullback now. Previous close was .49 , opened at .51 and has already hit .63 on 2.4 million shares traded by 10:15am, so this stock is definitely "in play".

The pullback could be over, but that .59 level always concerns me. Either wait for a further pullback or wait until it gets past .60 with conviction.

Level 2 shows that people are buying these pullbacks. Will it retest .21, let's wait and see the volume here. Over 500k traded before 10:00am is good sign. Good support at .15 & lots selling at .20

AVION GOLD CORPORATION - AVR.V @ .335 on 950,000 shares traded

I mentioned Avion Gold a few times this week. At 8:50am this morning the Bid/Ask are both at .34 with Level 2 showing more people on the bid than the ask. Avion has looked ready to break out every day & trades between .335 and .36

With that recent price target of .70 and the size of the bids the past few days, it appears it is being accumulated and has based in this area. But it does look like it wants to break out. If it does it may stall at .39 or with the volume this week it could very well get right into the 40's.

Avion Gold is one to keep an eye on, as usual, wait for the volume to dictate direction.
